It’s so easy as a photographer to skip straight to the kissing shot.  But one thing that often gets overlooked is the lead up to the kiss. The moment when the couple closes their eyes and gets ready for that connection together.

As Photographers we should look for and prepare to shoot these moments.  Sometimes it’s a simple matter of telling the couple to go slowly as they move closer to each other.  When the image can communicate the emotion of that moment, that’s when you’ve created a great image.

This was taken on the boardwalk of the Queen Mary in Long Beach during the Wedding Reception for Mike and Kari Long.  It was a beautiful wedding and the couple gave me time to do a shoot during the Reception which allowed me to capture and create this image and many others.  Stay tuned in the future for a Behind the Scenes video on my Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/jasonlanierpros that will show this moment and many others…:)

Camera settings: Sony A7m2, A7ii, 1/50 sec at f/1.8, 135mm Carl Zeiss Sony Lens, ISO 1600.
